Hello Down-loaders! Happy Holidays!
This interview was a “year in books” type of show. My guests were Kelly Justice, owner of The Fountain Bookstore, and Ward Teft owner of Chop Suey Tuey Books.
The radio show (which you get a revised version of here) has to be less than 28 minutes in length. Because the business of books conversation was so interesting, I chose to leave it in the finished program and cut, their recommendations for books to buy as gifts.
Their recommendations are as follows:
Ward recommends:
Any of the Charlie Harper illustrated kid’s books,
Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road” for high schoolers,
“Guerrilla Gardening: A manualfesto” or “The Corpse Walker” for twenty some-things,
and “The Story of Edgar Sawtelle” by David Wroblewski, for moms, aunts and others.
Kelly Justice recommends:
Lemony Snicket’s, “the Latke that Wouldn’t Stop Screaming” and “Lump of Coal” for young readers,
“The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins for teen readers,
“Country Music: the Masters” by Marty Stuart for music lovers and twenty some-things, and
“Casanova: Actor Priest Spy Lover” for older readers.
Thanks for tuning in.
Liz
